Waikato Rugby Union a rise looking for their next leader to improve the quality and quantity of officials in the Waikato Rugby Referees Association.

The key requirements of the role –
• Work with the WRRA Board to provide strategic direction and implement policies;
• Ensure match official education and training programs are in place and implemented.
• Ensure match official recruitment and retention policies are in place and implemented;
• Participate in REO/NZRU workshops/meetings as required;
• Facilitate, coordinate, administer and budget for the Northern Zone Referee Squad during the representative season;
• Promote use of and educate referee coaches to use RRIMS referee reporting system;
• Help to develop, deliver and implement NZRU Safety programs
• Manage the organisation and facilitation -
- of the match disciplinary process, including all reported foul play and misconduct
- of the case assessment and judicial process
- of all compulsory medical, player welfare and health and safety requirements (E.g. Blue Cards)

We are looking for candidates with the following skills –
• Match official experience
• Comprehensive understanding of the community rugby environment
• Management and leadership experience
• Knowledge and experience in strategic and tactical thinking
• Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills
• High level is written and oral skills
• Competency with Word and Excel programs
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Awareness of Rugby Products

• Budgeting skills
• Facilitation at workshops
• Appropriate tertiary qualification
