Waikato Rugby Union is looking for their next leader to develop and build strong relationships with the rugby community. To grow participation and strengthen women’s rugby within the Waikato Area.
The key requirements of the role –
• Build and maintain positive relationships and networks with key personnel within the region eg. Schools, clubs, coaches.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with other key personnel in the WRU structure
• Implement and enhance the WRU Participation and Development Strategy, particularly where it applies to women’s rugby
• Provide opportunities to enhance coaches and players skills and knowledge through the development of workshops, road shows, training and skill sessions
• Focusing on participation growth and the development of girl’s secondary school rugby programs that attract players entering secondary school. Maintain and grow players through secondary school years, and connect players to club rugby upon leaving school
We are looking for candidates with the following skills –
• Strong communication and excellent coaching/mentoring skills
• A comprehensive understanding of the game of rugby and overall player development
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
• Work competently as a member of a team
• Ability to take a logical, structured approach to planning and completing workloads
• Exceptional organizational, planning, and facilitating skills
• Comprehensive delivery and presentation skills
• Ability to operate at a strategic as well as operational level

 Previous experience in coaching and/or education
 Experience and/or training in child, adolescent, and/or adult education
 Easily establishes rapport with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
 Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office Programs
